An adult male pedestrian died in a collision at Caltrain’s Churchill Avenue crossing Thursday afternoon at around 3:40 p.m., according to Caltrain Alerts on Twitter. All 22 passengers on the train are reportedly unharmed.

Although the victim has not been publicly identified, PAUSD Superintendent Don Austin confirmed with Palo Alto Online that the person who died was not a Palo Alto Unified School District student. The San Mateo County Sheriff is investigating the incident. After a two-hour closure, the railroad crossing at Churchill Avenue has re-opened to all traffic.
