After days of campaigning from candidates, students have elected their ASB officers for the 2025-2026 school year.
Sophomore Katie Kim was elected president and will serve alongside junior Nathan Lee, who was elected vice president, while junior Jerry Yan will take over as treasurer.
At the class level, juniors James Park and Emily Tang will lead the senior class next year as president and vice president, respectively. Sophomore Kai Bunger-Tang will step in as junior class president, with Lumi Lee as vice president. Freshman Helen Li was elected sophomore class president and Olivia Woo was chosen as sophomore class vice president.
As president, Kim said she hopes to improve communication between ASB and the student body.
“I would like to have better publicity for ASB events so that everyone has a chance to participate,” Kim said. “I am completely open to feedback for any concerns and ideas the student body has.”
Tang said she is excited to make the most of her senior year.
“Ever since freshman year, I feel like we’ve all been waiting to have our moment as seniors…” Tang said. “It’s important to me that we grow closer as a class in our final year together.”
Next year, Tang said she wants to continue planning the lip dub — a video where student groups lip-sync to a song while performing synchronized actions — and aims to make next year’s lip dub bigger and better than the one scheduled for spring.
“There’s a lot to celebrate about Paly — the different aspects of student life that are each so accredited whether it be journalism, robotics, speech and debate, and so much more,” Tang said. “Lip dub is a super fun way for the school to come together and for us to take a step back and celebrate all that Paly has to offer.
Ultimately, Nathan Lee said he is most excited for the opportunity to make a real impact.
“I want to bring fresh ideas to ASB and work with students to create meaningful change,” Lee said. “Whether it’s planning events, advocating for student needs, or just making sure everyone feels heard, I’m looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together.”
