Badminton lost its senior night game 7-23 to Lynbrook High School on April 28.
Despite the loss, the team secured a spot in the Central Coast Section.
Head coach Gabriel Fossati-Bellani said he appreciates the energy the team brought.
“We wish we would have won some of the close matches that we lost, but overall the team came together,” Fossati-Bellani said. “We’ve had a very positive attitude the whole season.”
Senior captain Aiden Yuan said he enjoys the team’s positive environment.
“We had a lot of downs together, but we went through the whole thing as a team,” Yuan said.
Fossati-Bellani said the seniors are a crucial part of the team.
“The whole team is anchored around the seniors, so those 11 players have been the core that has led us through to our victories,” Fossati-Bellani said. “When they’re missing at matches, we feel it a lot, so I’m glad that everyone showed up for senior night.”
Senior Yuvan Vishakan said senior night brought the season full circle.
“The past three years, senior night has always been one of the things that you watch,” Vishakan said. “It feels so far away when you’re a freshman, but now it’s already here. I’ll probably take away the people I met here and the friendships I’ve made.”
